Rumors spread across the realm that the King would build a triumphal arch in the city.
“The bigliest arch ever built,” boasted the King. “No one has ever seen bigger.”
Soon, the royal crews began building on the palace grounds, and two giant arches rose high into the sky, dwarfing everything around.
“Two arches?” the King’s subjects wondered. “Isn’t one enough?”
Skilled craftsmen gilded the arches in gold.
When they were finished, the King stepped onto the portico before the assembled crowd.
“Behold the Golden Arches,” he declared. “Now I can have a Big Mac any time I want one.”
