The more King Bartholomew ages, the more things he forgets. To help himself remember, he renames everything in the kingdom.
The river becomes Bartholomew River. The capital city, Bartholomew City. The royal forest, Bartholomew Forest.
He renames the royal palace, royal steed, and royal carriage. He even renames the queen.
One day, while passing through Bartholomew City in the Bartholomew Carriage, he points to the cathedral. “Please tell me, Prime Minister, what is the name of that splendid church?”
“Bartholomew Cathedral.”
“Where are we going?”
“Bartholomew Palace.”
“To see whom?”
“Queen Bartholomew.”
The king frowned.
“Who the hell is Bartholomew?”
