A dozen sheep plus two follow Noah down the ramp of the ark, blinking in the light of the sun they had not seen for a year. A dazzling rainbow stretches across the sky.
One sheep turns to another.
“What is it?”
“It’s God’s promise.”
“So, we made it.”
“Yep.”
“No dinosaurs?”
“Nope.”
“No lions, bears, or wolves?
“Noah’s giving us a headstart.”
Let’s go then.”
Nearby, Noah gathers wood and stacks it in a pile.
“What’s he doing?”
“I think he’s making a fire.”
“For what?”
“For us.”
“Why?”
“Because God loves the smell of burning meat.”
“Good God!”
