Human, in Progress

Writing rarely comes easy for me, but I like putting what matters into words, whether profound or banal. Even the banal is not always as dull as it first seems. 

Some writers try to write beautifully. I try to write truthfully. Sometimes it’s the same thing.

“Truthfully” doesn’t mean I’ve already discovered the truth. Writing is often the search for truth itself. A search that lasts a lifetime, for there is always more to find. 

What I write is distinctly me, and it’s as human as can be. And maybe I’m still learning to be the human I should be.
