So many seconds but not enough time.
They tick into minutes and hours and days
and weeks and months and decades sublime.
I can’t get them back although I have tried.
There’s no second chances, re-dos, or rewinds.

The seconds dissolve like sand in the wind.
With each passing moment my hope grows more dim
that I have enough time until the end.
To show people love and forgiveness and grace,
before the last seconds of life tick away.
