Saved

God saved his life, they said. The Miracle on Flight PS91. 

He wasn’t so sure. 

Why should he be the only survivor of the plane crash that killed all on board save one? What higher purpose did God spare him for? Why was his life of more value than anyone else on the plane? 

Why did children die? And mothers. And families. 

For many months he wrestled with these questions, to no avail. Surely, if God saved him then, God could save him now. 

He stepped to the edge of the bridge, looked at the water far below, and jumped.
