Cot in the Blur

  • Mystery & Suspense, Psychological

You wake on the basement cot.

Why are you here? How long have you been here?

The light of dawn peeks through the window overhead.

Betsy, your beloved tabby cat, meows close by.

You remember.

You came to find her after she wandered down the basement stairs.

You fell.

Betsy hops onto the cot to snuggle—soft, furry, and warm.

She purrs. Time blurs. Hours pass as seconds.

It’s dark, and you are tired.

You fall asleep, Betsy curled in a ball next to you.

You wake on the basement cot.

Why are you here? How long have you been here?
