Love Lies

Every night my love lies in my arms, and I tell her I love her, and I know it’s true. I gave her my vows for better or worse, in sickness or health, till death do us part. I kiss her lips and caress her brow, and watch as she drifts off to sleep.
Every day my love lies to my face, and she tells me she loves me, and I know it’s not true. She gave me her vows for better or worse, in sickness or health, till death do us part. I kiss her lips and caress her brow, and watch as she drives off to work.
Tonight my love lies in a cold pine box, and I tell her I’m sorry we didn’t make it through. She gave him her vows for better or worse, in sickness or health, till death do they part. I kiss her lips and caress her brow, and close the lid and cover with dirt.
